TT Club management
The day-to-day business of the TT Club is delegated to an independent firm of professional Managers, Thomas Miller (Bermuda) Ltd, and its London agents, Through Transport Mutual Services (UK) Ltd (collectively known as the "Managers"). The Managers are responsible for implementing the policies outlined by the Board.
Through Transport Mutual Insurance Association Limited ("TT Bermuda") was established in 1968 as a mutual insurance association and is registered in Bermuda. In 1991 a subsidiary, Through Transport Mutual Insurance Association of Europe Limited was created in the United Kingdom primarily to take advantage of the single market for insurance in the European Union. The name was changed to Through Transport Mutual Insurance Association (EurAsia) Limited in January 1996 to reflect the expansion of operations in Asia, and subsequently to TT Club Mutual Insurance Limited (“TTI”) in July 2007 to reflect the global nature of the company’s operations.
TTI has underwriting branch offices regulated by the Hong Kong Insurance Authority and the Monetary Authority of Singapore to carry on business of non-life insurance and reinsurance of all kinds on a mutual basis, and is also authorised in several other jurisdictions worldwide. Subsequently, the Managers are represented in a variety of forms including, for example, Thomas Miller (South East Asia) Pte Ltd, Thomas Miller (Hong Kong) Ltd, and Through Transport Mutual Services (Americas).
Thomas Miller, in its capacity as the Manager of the TT Club, has been awarded ISO 9001:2000 Certification affirming a commitment to service. The TT Club is fully regulated by the authorities in all its locations, offering its customers a further assurance of quality and reliability.
Chief Operating Officer, TTMS
Angela joined Thomas Miller in January 1996 after working as an Associate Manager in another International Group P & I Club.
Angela's varied career started in Thomas Miller's Sunderland office where she was the Manager of that office. Since 2000 she has worked in a number of roles based in the London office. Angela is currently Chief Operating Officer for TTMS and has responsibility for a number of Thomas Miller central service areas, including Information Technology.
Brian's background before joining Thomas Miller & Co Ltd was in reinsurance. On joining TT Club in 1988 Brian spent 12 years developing the Club's presence in the South American market as well as handling US London market business.
Since 2000 Brian has held the role of Director of Underwriting.
Deputy Underwriting Director
David is the Deputy Director of Underwriting and is (together with the Director of Underwriting) responsible for the technical underwriting result and for setting underwriting policy for the TT Club.
Robert Kempkens LLM (Edinburgh) is a qualified German Rechtsanwalt who worked as a shipping lawyer in Hamburg for Wessing Berenberg-Gossler and Ince & Co. He joined Thomas Miller in 2006, becoming Regional Claims Director for Europe, Middle East and Africa in 2010.
Phillip is the Regional Director for Asia Pacific and responsible for the TT Club teams in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Sydney. He has responsibility for business development and provides the underwriting and claims oversight in this region.
Career Summary - Kevin leads the Club’s EMEA Regional Team, responsible for Member service and business development across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He has held a variety of positions across Thomas Miller managed Clubs in our New Jersey, San Francisco and former Houston offices, most recently managing the UK P&I Club’s Americas regional claims team, and the claims performance of the TT Club’s North American Chassis Program.
Risk Management Director
Peregrine read Law at Southampton University, specialising in the law of carriage and international trade. He has been with the TT Club since 1984, firstly handling claims and providing advice to all types of transport and logistics operators, including ports and terminals, until the late 1990s when he was directing claims operations worldwide for the Club.
Since 2002, Peregrine has led the TT Club's internal risk management framework as well as directing its loss prevention services to Members. In this latter role he has particularly developed links with like-minded trade organisations and NGOs with a view to promote good practice in health and safety matters as well as general operations. The Club publishes loss prevention briefings on many operational issues and handbooks on topics such as windstorm preparedness, supply chain security and international carriage conventions.
Risk Assessment Director
Laurence’s role in the TT Club covers advice and support in underwriting decisions and claims assessment, and he works proactively with clients and industry to identify areas where risks may be reduced. Laurence is based in Sydney, Australia and travels to TT Club global offices and client sites on a regular basis. He is a Director of Thomas Miller (Australasia) Pty Ltd.
Ian is responsible for regulatory compliance worldwide - the Club is licenced in the UK and throughout the EEA, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, Bermuda & USA. Ian is a member of the executive management committee, Managers' Risk Committee and Reinsurance Committee. Ian is assisting with and advising on the implementation of Solvency II.
TT Club Board Administrator
Helen joined TT Club in 1999 having previously worked with the Club on a temporary basis through University vacations. She has been the Club's Board Administrator since September 2005, working in the Management team.
Jaime joined the TT Club in 2008, she is currently working in the TT Information Management Team, providing administrative support to the claims executives and secretarial support to the Regional Claims Director.
Sally is an Executive Secretary working in the Management Team for the Claims Director, the Chief Operating Officer, the Head of Compliance and the Risk Management Director.
This is Sally's 23rd year working for Thomas Miller having had two maternity breaks to have her daughters.
