Thomas Keller
Area Director Central Europe and Scandinavia
Career Summary
My principal role in TT Club is to develop new business in terms of new customers
as well as new broker channels within Central Europe, mainly in the Nordic markets,
i.e. Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark and Iceland as well as Germany, Switzerland
and Austria.
Background
I have started my professional career with a classic apprenticeship at Victoria Insurance
Germany that involved a two years specific insurance studies at an insurance college with
final exams at the German Chamber of Commerce (similar to ACII).
In 1993 I joined Hellmann Worldwide Logistics in Osnabruck, Germany, from where I was
sent to Birmingham and Bradford to look after their international insurance matters. From
1994 until end of 1996 I worked for TT Club in London as an underwriter, underwriting the
Club's Middle East book of business.
In 1997 I joined Kuehne & Nagel's headoffice in Switzerland and on my role as Vice President
and Deputy Managing Director of KN's own insurance broker Nacora Holding AG, I was responsible for
KN's risk management as well as Nacora's European business activities.
In April 2002, I re-joined Thomas Miller and worked as senior underwriter and Area Director for
Central Europe. In this role, my main focus was to underwrite the existing account portfolio
in Central Europe and the Nordic Countries by developing new business within this
region at the same time.
Special Experience
Due to my previous roles, my main focus is still the transport and logistics industry where I could
gain significant practical as well as insurance related experience. I am in regular contact with this
industry sector and try to keep involved by exploring opportunities to write magazine articles and
to participate in various logistics conferences and exhibitions.
I am currently considering a special Shipping and Logistics MBA course.
