Unless forwarders in China obtain solid evidence that the shipper accepts a Forwarder’s Cargo Receipt (FCR) purely as a receipt, and that there is no requirement to obtain a bill of lading, they can be exposed to claims of loss of cargo payments under Free On Board (FOB) terms.
