The annual Asia Logistics Awards took place in Shanghai last week, with the leading transport insurance provider TT Club once again playing a central role. For the fourth consecutive year TT Club sponsored and presented the Hall of Fame award, a special recognition of an individual who is judged to have made a significant personal contribution to the logistics and supply chain industry in Asia.

This year Mr Andreas Mueller, regional director for TT Club, presented the award to Mr Luo Kaifo, president, China International Forwarders Association and vice president of FIATA, in front of an audience of more than 350 industry leaders at the JW Marriott Hotel in Shanghai. Mr Luo, formerly president of Sinotrans, joins previous Hall of Fame luminaries Tun Dr. Mahathir bin Mohamad, former prime minister of Malaysia, Robert Yap (YCH Holdings) and John Meredith (Hutchison International Terminals).

Mr Mueller commented: “As a transport insurance provider with a loyal and growing number of policyholders in Asia and particularly in Greater China, TT Club has consistently championed professionalism and best practice in the industry. Mr Luo‘s induction into the Hall of Fame is deserved recognition for the outstanding qualities he has demonstrated over many years and his sterling work in representing the interests of his country’s shipper community.”

TT Club operates three offices in Greater China, in Shanghai, Beijing and Hong Kong, where the insurer maintains its headquarters for the whole Asia-Pacific region. These three offices are supported by further teams of underwriting and claims handling specialists in Singapore, Australasia, the Americas and Europe.

Since its inception in 1968, TT Club has been owned by its policyholders rather than by external shareholders. The key benefit of this structure is that it allows the Club to focus entirely on the services it provides to its policyholders, including prompt claims handling and high quality loss prevention advice.
