FIATA's Young Logistics Professional Award

FIATA World Congress 22

Young Logistics Professionals Award

For over twenty years, FIATA and TT Club have been providing valuable training opportunities for the young rising stars of the industry by organizing a yearly contest. Formerly known as the Young International Freight Forwarder of the Year Award (YIFFYA), the competition has now become the Young Logistics Professionals Award (YLP Award) – to show that all the young bright minds of the field, whichever their specialization, are welcome to participate.

The competition demonstrates the recognition by FIATA and TT Club of the need to develop skilled human resources in the freight forwarding and logistics sector and to acknowledge young talents.

What is the award?

By participating to the competition, you will get the chance to win the below prizes:

Attendance to the FIATA World Congress (including travel and accommodation allowance);
One week of academic training in London and one week of practical training at one of TT Club’s regional centres (London, Hong Kong or New Jersey);
One-year subscription to the International Transport Journal, Switzerland.

How to participate?

The competition is open to any young logistics professional meeting the below criteria:

The age limit is 32 years old the year that the dissertation is written;

Two years of full-time work experience in supply chain logistics are preferred but not mandatory;
The candidate must be put forward by their Association Member.

The prize

Each Regional Winner receives a prize consisting of:

  • Attendance at FIATA World Congress (including an allowance towards travel and accommodation costs)
  • A Regional Winner’s Certificate and a personal trophy.
  • One year’s free subscription to International Transport Journal in English, French or German.

The Young International Freight Forwarder of the Year will also receive the following:

  • An International Certificate and an additional personal trophy.
  • One week’s practical experience to be held at one of TT Club’s regional offices (London, Hong Kong, New Jersey)
  • One week’s academic training in the TT Club’s Head Office in London.

How to enter

The award is open to any young freight forwarder, providing that their company is a member of their National Forwarding Association. Each National Forwarding Association is entitled to select one candidate, who will be no more than 32 years old in the year that the dissertation is to be written and who has 2 years of full-time forwarding work experience – though the latter is preferable but not mandatory.

For more information on entering the YIFFYA competition, you can contact your National Freight Forwarding Association or contact yiffa.admin@thomasmiller.com.
