Charles is the TT Club CEO and hence responsible to the Club Board for the performance of the Club. He is also a Director and Chairman of Thomas Miller Holdings, the Company of the group that among other activities, manages the Club's business.

Charles has been the CEO since March 2009 and before that he was the COO. Prior to joining TT Club in May 2007, he was the COO in Thomas Miller's P&I business, management of the UK P&I Club. Charles joined Thomas Miller in 1997 initially managing a claims team before undertaking a variety of operational and management roles within the business.

He started his working life in the Royal Navy and upon leaving the Navy qualified as a Solicitor. Charles moved into claims handling in the mutual insurance world in 1991.
