TT Club preparations in anticipation of the United Kingdom leaving the European Union

This circular dated 30 November 2020 is for customers of TT Forwarders Cargo and provides an update of TT Club's business continuity plans in relation to Brexit.

TT Club Forwarders Cargo Brexit Preparations

As the United Kingdom prepares to leave the European Union (EU) after the transition period ends on 31 December 2020, TT Club Forwarders Cargo has made arrangements to retain access to the EU single market.

Beginning 1 January 2021, TT Club Forwarders Cargo will transition accounts in the European Economic Area (EEA) to UK P&I Club N.V. (UKNV), a business established in the Netherlands and managed by Thomas Miller. EEA risks will be fronted by UKNV and reinsured to TT Club.

For EEA certification, the following changes will be noted:

  • Business address: Thomas Miller B.V. as authorised agents, Wilhelminakade 953A, 3072 AP Rotterdam, The Netherlands
  • Signatory: Hugo Wynn-Williams, CEO Thomas Miller B.V., as authorised agent of UK P&I Club N.V. acting as TT Club
  • Security: UK P&I Club N.V.

This UKNV-fronted arrangement has been approved by the Netherlands regulator, De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB), and the UK's Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA). It ensures the continued high-quality service for TT Club's European forwarders cargo business after Brexit.

TT Club remains committed to managing and growing its EEA forwarders cargo business in partnership with Thomas Miller-managed businesses, aiming for a successful 2021 in the EEA and globally.
