The Award, sponsored by TT Club, the leading provider of international freight transport insurance, has been won this year by Daniel Terbille of South Africa.
Following frustrating delays at an IMO session last week, TT Club is urging all parties to redouble efforts to formulate an acceptable global regulation on container weight verification. The insurer urges all those involved in container operations to prepare already for regulatory change.

US rating agency, A. M. Best has re-affirmed TT Club's financial strength rating as A- (Excellent). The specialist insurer of the international freight and logistics sector has also had its issuer credit rating maintained at 'a -' by the agency. A. M. Best pronounced the outlook for both ratings as 'stable'. This is the seventh successive year that TT has maintained its ratings at these levels.

Speaking at the freight industry forum, TOC Container Supply Chain Asia in Hong Kong today, TT Club's Director of Global Risk Assessment, Laurence Jones highlighted the key factors that cause disruption throughout the global supply chain and spoke of opportunities for operators to save costs by tightening procedures to minimise accidents, breakdowns, delays and other risks.
The Container Owners Association (COA) and the TT Club bring together practitioners and experts to debate ways to resolve the exploding reefer machinery issue following the introduction of counterfeit gas into the supply chain.
