Loss Prevention - controlling risk and reducing exposure
TT Club's Risk Management team is committed to the ongoing development of advice and information to make the global transport and logistics industry safer and more secure. This includes:
- Providing support to reduce the risk of claims occurrence
- Promoting ‘best practice’ opportunities
- Helping to improve risk assessment, mitigation and control
The team regularly publish information in relation to significant industry developments, including our monthly e-newsletter TT Talk, featuring topical stories and information updates.
Supporting our Members by sharing best practices, our loss prevention programme also features information about relevant industry and legal developments. Our resources include stop loss brochures, risk management guides and handbooks.
Helping our Members reduce their exposure to claims, our risk assessment programme highlights improvements that they can make to their business processes. Any information that is not sensitive to a specific client’s operations is shared across the whole membership, for the benefit of all.
Managing Director Loss Prevention
Mike is the Managing Director for TT Club’s Loss Prevention department. Mike joined TT Club in 2010 as a Claims Executive providing advice to transport operator Members globally, having previously held operation management roles within the logistics industry for 13 years. Previous roles incorporated full responsibility in terms of budget, legislative, operational and health and safety compliance, including being the nominated dangerous goods safety advisor.
Risk Management Director
Peregrine read Law at Southampton University, specialising in the law of carriage and international trade. He has been with the TT Club since 1984, firstly handling claims and providing advice to all types of transport and logistics operators, including ports and terminals, until the late 1990s when he was directing claims operations worldwide for the Club.
Since 2002, Peregrine has led the TT Club's internal risk management framework as well as directing its loss prevention services to Members. In this latter role he has particularly developed links with like-minded trade organisations and NGOs with a view to promote good practice in health and safety matters as well as general operations. The Club publishes loss prevention briefings on many operational issues and handbooks on topics such as windstorm preparedness, supply chain security and international carriage conventions.
Risk Assessment Director
Laurence’s role in the TT Club covers advice and support in underwriting decisions and claims assessment, and he works proactively with clients and industry to identify areas where risks may be reduced. Laurence is based in Sydney, Australia and travels to TT Club global offices and client sites on a regular basis. He is a Director of Thomas Miller (Australasia) Pty Ltd.
